An oil-down and Sonoma Raceway's nighttime curfew left Top Fuel teams with only one qualifying opportunity Friday, making every thousandth of a second count.

Doug Kalitta made his lone shot stand up with a 3.714-second pass at 337.07 mph, narrowly claiming the provisional No. 1 qualifier over points leader Shawn Langdon on speed after both drivers posted identical elapsed times. Kalitta also earned the Deecell After Dark Low Qualifier bonus, while Langdon continued proving why he sits atop the championship standings heading into Saturday's final qualifying sessions.
