Not too much to say here - it's mostly an autoscroller. You can speed up some of the early sections by hitting the switches early. In the final section, I am not sure if it is faster to kill the laser bots quick or not; I try to kill them early when possible anyway.

Realized that I didnt save the stream archive of this run, so I figured I could at least upload the local copy. The run uses a lot of new strats and things, but I didnt get great luck nor was I technically up-to-snuff. Should be able to hit sub-6 with this route and a few more tweaks.

Last boss! Once I understood his general cycles, it was a lot easier to set up positioning ahead of time and get reasonable kills on the knobs. Unfortunately, this whole mission is still largely dependent on how many subweapon drops you get and when. I dont think Ill try to improve it, but getting to the low 4:20s range should be possible.")

This video is an unoptimized TAS I put together for a full RTA route of Metal Walker. It serves mainly as a reference for the general flow, but also as a means to identify simple improvements, such as when to self-destruct to return to base points or whether farming other items may be worthwhile. I learned a number of things mid-playthrough, so the back half is especially sloppy, but still workable. Most significantly, Ill probably go back to farming Hot Head to take out Dragon and a portion of the later bosses, as they get a stat boost I was unaware of. Exactly where to stop in the various level farming is also still a big question mark. Either way, I expect the final time for this run might be in the neighborhood of 2 hours once proper analysis is given to the pain points.
The extra patterns and numbers on-screen are from a script I created to gain further insight and planning. Most valuable is the current move counter (upper right, one type of RNG), and the item toss predictions. I have setups for most boss encounters for just about any throw position, but a few specific ones I may need to go for broke or tune the move counter to an appropriate value to proceed. Figuring all that out will happen at a later date, though.")

A new run! Other than the atrocious mishap against Khlar, this run was near perfect. I hit every one of the new manips, had reasonable zip performance, and otherwise did everything else well. By JP timing, this run works out to be about 25:11.75 . Pretty satisfied, though now the 25:10 JP timing barrier is looking at me funny... Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/omnigamer")
