Sony is going to stop selling physical copies of games by 2028, and that is incredibly stupid, but hold on a second. PC is already All-Digital anyway. You don't get physical copies of PC games now. Why are you pissed? PC has been dealing with this for decades now. PC doesn't get physical copies anymore. You shouldn't be mad.
Yes. That is correct for most PC games these days. They don't get physical copies, but do you know what you do get from PC games? DRM free versions where the DRM got removed by the developers after a certain period of time that can be installed through DRM free stores like GOG or cracked versions of the games where the pirates successfully cracked the game so that you can install it anywhere anytime. To put it simply, no license, no checks, just install and play.
The physical version of the PC game comes in the form of any forms of storage you can use. SD cards. Micro SD cards, USB sticks, external hard drives, internal hard drives, it literally does not matter. As long as the game is DRM free or cracked, you can install and play at any time anywhere without needing to connect to the internet or to verify the game license. It's not exactly the same as a physical copy of a Blu-ray disc, but the Blu-ray disc in question is used to store games and verify license. So, in that regard, the Blu-Ray discs are not as good as cracked or DRM free games.
