Patti Page and Ian Tyson are the guests on THE RAES, the CBC Vancouver 1978 series featuring the husband & wife team of Robbie (from Wales) and Cherrill Rae. Also involved are Jackson Davies (of the Beachcombers fame) as the bumbling studio director and Micki Maunsell as the costume designer. "The Singing Rage, Miss Patti Page" was the top selling US female artist of the 1960s and here she sings the Glenn Campbell classic, "Gentle on my Mind." Canadian singer/songwriter Ian Tyson is best known for "Four Strong Winds" (chosen by CBC Radio One listeners as the greatest Canadian song of all time) and was one half of the popular folk music duo Ian & Sylvia, fronting the band The Great Speckled Bird. In 1989 he was inducted in the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame long after he left his initial Vancouver rock 'n roll band The Sensational Stripes in the late 50s. Here he joins the Raes in a Rock 'n Roll medley comprised of Good Old Rock 'n Roll, Sweet Little Sixteen, Long Tall Sally, Chantilly Lace, Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On, Blue Suede Shoes and Party Doll. The Raes open with I Only Want to be With You, backed by the Tommy Banks Orchestra.
