PATRICK MAHOMES FIRST TD SINCE ACL INJURY

Patrick Mahomes is currently playing in the Kansas City Chiefs' regular-season opener against the Denver Broncos. The game marks his highly anticipated return to the field exactly 274 days after suffering a season-ending torn ACL and LCL last December. The game is currently in progress at Arrowhead Stadium, and the score is tied 7-7 late in the first quarter. Mahomes wasted no time making an impact, bouncing back from an early offensive holding penalty to look like his old self. He has split his production between the air and the ground so far.

Mahomes cleared rehab ahead of schedule and did not play in the preseason as a precaution. He enters tonight completely off the injury report and wearing a bulky knee brace under his tights.
