This week we build the basic shapes that require carful construction to ensure perfect alignment and square cutout.


The turntable bridge needs to be drilled in the exact center exactly 90º to the surface so that the bridge aligns level with the rails at both ends and doesn't twist. So we are "drilling" with a plunge router and bits. All furniture grade plywood is cut out on a full sized table saw to ensure absolute squareness. All of this is critical at this stage as any defects will ruin the operation of the finished turntable.
