A train platform needs lots of light and signs announcing the station's name, the Village of Grapevine. AND lots of people and baggage. But that's another story.

We are reworking the beautiful LGB 50550 double-sided lamppost into something basically the same but better, plussed as Walt Disney would say.

Okay, the long story:
We wanted a lamppost for the platform and rather than scratch build, which is what we would do for the inside part of the railroad, we opted to bag an LGB double-headed lamppost off of eBay. Trainz had one used for $25 and the usual new ones at $45. So.. $25! Score! However, when it arrived it had several problems. The plug in the mounting base was broken, a lamp was out and the top had been glued on for some reason making it impossible to unscrew the bulb. So I contacted Trainz (Great store) and they refunded our money and said just throw it away.... Throw it away? Hum...

So a few weeks later we had a reworked LGB 50550. AND better than the original. And free! Except it took us about 40 hours to rebuild it...
