Users of the 18" Rikon bandsaw (10-347) at a local woodworking school keep breaking the brass fixture that allows them to tighten the fence (Rikon P10-342-10E). I modeled and 3D printed a replacement part, first in plastic, and soon in metal, thanks to Shapeways.

$Pond Time Lapse A lot of pollen was deposited on the surface of the pond this week, and I found the patterns fascinating. First thing in the morning, some of the pollen is blueish and some is reddish, as the light diffracts off of the pollen. I decided to take this time lapse because I was curious about how the surface of the pond reacted to the wind. I had no idea how rapidly it would shift, and that there was a general counter-clockwise drift. Time lapse is often very revealing. 601 photos were taken at 30 second intervals to create this video at 25 frames per second.$
