Classic 'Lace Bend Round of VIII Bowes'--this is the most well-known version of the Spiral Braids. (loop braiding, not kumihimo).
I also demonstrate how to make an opening in the braid for a loop or buttonhole, by splitting the braid into 2 smaller spiral braids. There is another, even cooler way to do this that I will demonstrate in part 3. (In Part 2, I will demonstrate how to make 2 different lengthwise stripes patterns with this braid--the spiral is only one of several possible patterns.)
