Ingrid Crickmore | 6-Loop Spiral Braid (pt 1) + alternate methods, right-handed @loopbraider | Uploaded September 2011 | Updated October 2024, 44 minutes ago.
6-loop Spiral Braid, like the Medieval lace bend round, but here of only 6 loops. At the beginning I SAY I will demo the vertical striping pattern variation, but I don't end up getting to it in this video, it's in the next video--part 2 of the 6-loop Spiral Braid. (At the end of this video is my clearest description of 3 alternate ways to take the loops so that the braid won't have an extra twist to it...My other videos mention or show this but not as fully.)

This is a supplement to my tutorial on Spiral Braids of 4 to 10 loops that will be on file starting in October '11 with the Braids and Bands Yahoo list uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/braids_and_bands/. (The tutorial covers other goodies, too, like how to start a braid without any ends at the top--a smooth start with an eyelet-type loop).
See my blog for more about loop braiding, including how to make braids of several yards/ meters in length, how to make and plan different color patterns, how to start braids with no loose ends at the top of the braid, and more: loopbraider.wordpress.com/tutorials
