Ingrid Crickmore | part 3 of the 8-loop Spiral Braid-divided version (2 spiral braids at the same time)RIGHT-HANDED @loopbraider | Uploaded October 2011 | Updated October 2024, 27 minutes ago.
A little different order of loop exchanging than I pantomimed in previous 8-loop video. Both work. This way is probably easier to remember. See parts 1 and 2 for a much easier but slower way to make the buttonhole, also for how to braid lengthwise stripes instead of a spiral.
This is a way to form a loop/ buttonhole in your 8-loop Spiral fingerloop braid (lace bend rounde of 8 bowes). The loop is formed by two 4-loop spiral braids that are braided simultaneously. (Click on Loopbraider, above, to see all my videos.)
The left-handed version of this video also shows how to unbraid several cycles back for undoing a mistake. (not shown here).
For the photo-tutorial explaining how to start this braid with no loose ends, join the Braids and Bands groups.io discussion list--its in their files section under tutorials:
