The UNESCO World Heritage site of Par Force Hunting Landscape of North Zealand is an old royal hunting ground to the north of Copenhagen. Par Force hunting involved mounted men and dogs vigorously pursuing their quarry (usually deer or stags) through a large hunting park, eventually exhausting the target at the centre of the park. The king would be waiting nearby to deal the fatal blow. It's quite an unusual world heritage site, and certainly one of the strangest we've been to - but still quite interesting!
