Members of a state panel on Thursday unanimously denied a proposal to build a Little Caesars drive-thru and carry-out location on Main Street near the SoMa neighborhood. The Capitol Zoning District Commission, which reviews requests for construction and alterations to structures around the State Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion, heard comments opposing the proposal from community members concerned about walkability and the district's overall character. The proposal called for the store to be located at 1819 Main St. on a lot that has been vacant for over 20 years, just south of a shopping center that includes an Edwards Cash Saver grocery store.
