We humans miss much in our world. Sometimes a change to nonlinear “lenses” helps us see phenomena for the first time. We revisit “norms” for our everyday creative experience—sometimes not about a “norm” at all. Five constructs and examples are considered from “chaos and complexity” theory in areas we (yes, you and I) already intuitively know, with relevance to ourselves as “self-in-world”: sudden (think Aha! Moment), emergent, balancing, alive, and interdependent. New realizations can also enhance creative *teaching* —supporting learners’ awe, wonder, and greater awareness, while helping our endangered planet embrace life-enhancing paradigms!
