RON BEGHETTO: Human Creativity x AI: Possibilities and Pitfalls in Educational Contexts  @ugamfecoe

The focus of this talk is the interplay between human creativity and artificial intelligence in education. More specifically, the talk emphasizes the principled AI use – underscoring AI's role as a tool for enhancing, not replacing, human creative thought. This includes the importance of maintain human agency in such interactions and cautioning against an over-reliance on AI as simply an ‘answer machine.’ Examples of custom bots will also be demonstrated, highlighting how such bots can support formative assessment of creative ideas, foster creative idea development and "possibility thinking." Implications for research and practice will also be discussed.
