Paharganj India - Dusty Streets & Rooftop Dinner in Delhi
Day 8 in India, and after completing the Golden Triangle tour, it was time to explore Delhi's famous backpacker district: Paharganj.
I spent the day wandering Paharganj bustling main street - dusty, colorful, and full of life. This is one of Delhi's most vibrant neighborhoods, known for its markets, street food, and authentic local atmosphere.
I picked up a couple of traditional Indian scarves, one for me and one for my friend Sinead back home. While exploring, I stumbled upon a small artisan shop run by a lovely owner who made most of his handcrafted products himself. He couldn't speak, but his beautiful craftsmanship spoke volumes about Indian artisan culture.
For dinner, I headed to Everest Restaurant, a rooftop restaurant in Paharganj with stunning views overlooking the chaotic streets below. The food was delicious, and watching the sunset over Delhi's rooftops was the perfect way to reflect on everything I'd experienced during my first week in India.
After dinner, I spent the evening back at the Classic Diplomat Hotel, just relaxing and recharging. Sometimes the best part of solo travel in India is knowing when to slow down and soak it all in.
