This area was a bit of a trainwreck. After completing it I realized I accidentally recorded at 30 FPS so I had to restart the game, play through the pirate area again, and rerecord everything. That's why my grand score is different here.
Crisis Cavern is deceptively difficult to beat without taking damage and took a lot of tries. The two pufferfish in the water are the hardest enemies in the game to dodge, and they require a specific strategy to get past. Beyond that is an annoying maze and some devious traps. There were a number of close calls throughout, and the added delay on the butt bounce and pac-dot attack means you have to plan your moves ahead.
Manic Mines isn't too bad as long as you're careful. Thankfully I remembered to save the dog this time. The bonus stage can't be skipped by dying so I just complete it twice instead.
It just wouldn't be Pac-Man World if Anubis Rex wasn't the hardest boss in the game. Even though they made him easier, I think he still takes the throne as the toughest fight in the remake, save for possibly Toc-Man himself. Surprisingly though, getting through Crisis Cavern damage-less took far more tries than him.
I didn't realize until editing the video that I missed a banana after beating Anubis Rex. Oh well.
