The fourth boss battle of the main story! With Clyde, Inky, and Pinky beaten, only one member of the Ghost Gang is left to find. Blinky, the red ghost, and the leader of the bunch, is found in the heart of the Volcano. Unlike the other three ghosts, he isn't seen playing with the Golden Fruit he has. It is instead found dangling on a web of sorts, and is pulled towards Blinky, who has a spotlight shone on him, along with a crowd of ghost flunkies cheering him on! Blinky, as confident as ever, challenges his personal nemesis to a "music battle" for the Golden Orange, using a massive Spider Mecha to play the drums on the stage in the center of the arena!
Blinky's Spider Mecha:
The Mecha that Blinky pilots is easily the most dangerous of all the foes that Pac-Man has fought thus far...! This eight-legged robot is capable of beating on the drums in the arena, sending out note-based shockwaves at Pac-Man, which can be knocked away with a well-timed Flip Kick to avoid damage. To reach Blinky, Pac-Man must press the numbered buttons on the floor in the area around the audience, which effectively busts up his sonic speakers and prevents the Spider Mecha from sending out any more shockwaves. However, he must move fast, or the lava will stop sending out rocks to serve as platforms to give Pac-Man the path to the arachnid robot! When he reaches the drums, two of them are marked with a skull-shaped insignia, which means that Blinky will attack him if he stands on them! Pac-Man must Butt-Bounce on the unmarked drums, launching him up high, and allowing him to strike the mecha with a butt-bounce attack! After taking hits, the arachnid robot starts to incorporate more attacks into its pattern, like the ability to fire off trap webs capable of ensnaring Pac-Man if he gets too close to them and firing off magma rocks from the stage lights on the floor! In addition, more numbered buttons have to be pressed to reach Blinky and his mecha after every time he is hit...! Eventually, after three hits, Blinky decides to give everyone an encore, having his Spider Mecha eat the Golden Orange, which powers it up and gives it an additional pair of legs that fire off rounds of bullets every so often! With each passing turn, more numbered buttons have to be pressed, with the maximum amount being four... And as if that wasn't enough, Blinky has his Spider Mecha attack more and more frequently as the fight progresses to its end as well!
