With roughly four months left in 2026, the countdown is on for the City of York to use the remainder of its American Rescue Plan Act, or ARPA, funds, which the federal government issued during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 2022, the City of York has been working to spend more than $35 million. On July 21, city council approved how it will spend the rest of York’s ARPA funds, allocating around $4.5 million to various departments and projects.
A total of $1.5 million was set aside for renovations at the Penn Street Market.
