A Tesla Model Y in the Philippines costs 2.8 million pesos. Here is what ownership is really like.
Dr. Dennis is a retired anesthesiologist in Laguna. He owns a Lexus NX, a Mercedes GLC 200, and a BMW X3, and in September 2025 he paid cash for a Model Y Juniper, his first EV ever. We did not plan this one. I ran into him at the hospital where Abby's mom works, he offered to go home and grab the car, and we ended up hanging out for half the day.
This is the first EV Confessions episode I have shot outside the United States. We get into what a Tesla actually costs in the Philippines, why there is only one store in the whole country, what a charge runs on the Meralco meter compared to a tank of gas, why there is no FSD, and what CCS2 charging looks like when you are used to NACS.
