When Characters Get Overdesigned For No Reason: Overdesigned Mascots
Starting off we have Bomber man Act Zero from the 2006 Xbox 360 game, I would have never guessed this was a Bomber Man Character, this looks way more like a Doom or Duke Nukem Character.
Next we have Crash from the 2007 Crash of the Titans a game, Crash was given Tattoos and a wider frame to appear more Urbanized. As opposed to his more snout-like original design.
Then there is Sonic Boom Sonic, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric came out in 2014, and in it, the entire cast is given Boxing tape, and their limbs are the same color as their torso, this was a very controversial design choice at the time.
Skylanders Spyro was designed to be much more Reptile Like with a shorter snout and curled horns as opposed to his original design.
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures gave Pac-Man Fingers, Blue Eyes, as opposed to his simplistic character design.
Frogger from the Great Quest was made anthropomorphic so that he can operate as a 3D Adventure Plat-former.
Mega Man: Fully Charged was designed to appear much Wired and multi toned in an attempt to appear more futuristic unlike his original flat color Design.
