November 26, 2008 - With the Caps facing a long list of injuries, they needed their superstar to step up. It wasn't all bad news however, not only were they facing the Thrashers, a team the Great 8 had tormented so far in his career, but Ovechkin had been tearing it up in the month of November with 7 goals and 20 points in his last 11 games. His hot hand would continue as he scored on each of his first three shots. He would add an assist later in the game to help the Caps pull off the victory, showing once again that no matter how many injuries they had, they were never out of a game if Ovechkin was in the lineup.
