While on Test Drive with the new Mercedes-Benz CLS in England, we were briefly attending the AMAZING Goodwood Festival of Speed, watching the silver arrows including the magnificent Sauber C9 performing the hill climb, but also became witnesses of the unfortunate but yet innocuous crash of the R107 500 SL rally prototype.
Thanks to the skillful team of Mercedes-Benz Classic, the car was back on track already the next morning - and did amazingly well at the hill climb again.
The night before we had been lucky enough to ride the impressive 450 SEL 6.9 (W116), the "Über" S-Class of the Seventies, at Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands, exploring some remains of the historic 1907 Racing Circuit, the oldest race track in the world and home of British Motor Racing.
