Our travel trailer wheel bearing failure wasn't an easy fix. In this video, we have an RV fail that may have been able to be avoided. No one likes to be broken down on the side of the road, but thats what happens in RV LIfe.
Our RV travel day starts off leaving our Free boondocking spot near Silverthorne Colorado. We had originally planned on having a 5 hours travel day in our RV but only made it one hour due to a broken RV. We pulled over to take a break and realized we had a smoking failed wheel bearing. We quickly went into action trying to replace the travel trailer's wheel bearing with the spare bearing that we keep on hand. Realizing that we would need some special tools we have to run to the store. After getting a blow torch and some other odds and ends we got the old wheel bearing off our travel trailer but realized the beam (axel) was destroyed. So we decided to limp our travel trailer to a free boondocking area that was just down the road near Twin Lakes Colorado. It was quite the adventure and we also got a police escort in our RV as well.
