Today we had a muddy mess in front of one of our potato cellars. Every time it rains the area turns into a giant puddle, so we brought in some gravel to try and build it back up and keep the water from running into the cellar.
After fixing the mud hole, we moved some equipment around and pulled one of our pilers out of the cellar so we can start getting ready to haul potatoes out of storage. These potatoes will eventually be spread out on the fields as fertilizer. We’re also getting ready to demo a new Double L scooper to see how it compares to our current setup.
Later in the day we pulled a loader into the shop to track down a hydraulic leak… but of course the hose we needed wasn’t in stock, so that repair will have to wait until tomorrow.
Just another day on the farm getting things ready for spring work!
