I wanted to write a story for each song on "Sampler Platter" and this one is definitely one of my favorites. I was really proud of how I balanced the switch between two different 808s, and there’s just something so smooth and sweet about the whole vibe. I originally made this for my boo, so I’m especially glad it made the final cut. Plus, knowing how much of a fan Kendrick is of Al Green made it feel even more special.
