Ottawa Improv Festival: After Grand Finale Saturday May 30th: Hamming it up for photos:)

I attended the Grand Finale, and was amazed at how good it was.

This photo is of all the people that were doing the Improv and working behind the scenes over the three day festival.

I had no idea what it was about beforehand.

Groups of about 9 people went onto the stage.

The audience was asked for a keyword on a setting or idea (country club setting was yelled out first and chosen) and then the group went about it, making up funny stuff on the fly.

I may be taking a course on this soon, and giving it a go.

It looks like a lot of fun, everybody was in such a jovial mood, and the audience was electric!!

Not to worry, as I will keep my climate video day job.

In other news, I have just registered for the Canadian Open tournament in July.

Chess, of course. I am a National Master.

My chess glory days include a loss to Hikaru Nakamura (#2 in the world now) and a draw with Zsuzsa Polgar, Women’s World Champion.

Polgar wrote a book (Queen of the King’s Game) referring to drawing a weak master in her prep for the World Championship:)
