How does OSCAR LIVE wireless EEG perform during extreme real-world movement? This live demonstration puts the g.tec OSCAR LIVE wireless EEG system through an extreme motion test while continuously displaying 8 channels of raw EEG data in real time.
The participant performs increasingly demanding movements including walking, jumping, knee bends, push-ups, a handstand and finally a backflip. Watch the raw EEG throughout the experiment and see how OSCAR LIVE performs even in a highly dynamic recording environment.
OSCAR LIVE combines wireless EEG hardware, data transmission and signal acquisition software in an integrated system designed for high-quality mobile EEG and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) research.
But raw EEG visualization alone is not enough to validate EEG performance. To investigate whether the underlying electrophysiological information remains usable, OSCAR LIVE was also evaluated using established neurophysiological and BCI paradigms, including:
Auditory Evoked Potentials (AEPs)
Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SEPs)
Visual Evoked Potentials (VEPs)
Event-Related Desynchronization (ERD)
Time-frequency analysis
BCI classification performance
These tests go beyond simply showing an EEG trace. They evaluate whether relevant neural information can still be extracted and used for EEG analysis and Brain-Computer Interface applications.
OSCAR LIVE is designed for researchers working with wireless EEG, mobile EEG, wearable EEG, movement experiments, real-time EEG, motor-imagery BCI, neurorehabilitation, human movement research and Brain-Computer Interfaces.
Demonstration by g.tec medical engineering, presented during the g.tec BCI & Neurotechnology Spring School 2023.
