Join me as I leave the picturesque Point of Ness campsite to explore the beautiful island of Orkney! 🚐
First stop: Kirkwall! I park at the motorhome-friendly spot opposite Tesco and take a stroll through the charming town. Discover the historic Kirkness & Gorie, a cheese and wine shop founded in 1859, where I snag some delicious local Orkney cheeses. 🧀🍷
But the main quest of this trip? Finding wild puffins for my nephew Liam! 🐧 I head to Birsay on the northern tip of the island, cross the causeway, and hike around the rugged coastline with my friend Dave. The views are stunning, and guess what? I spot puffins on the cliff edges! They’re even smaller and cooler than I imagined. I capture some amazing photos and videos to share with Liam, making his day. 📸
After an incredible day, I wild camp at Birsay. However, the next morning, strong winds and bad weather force me to seek shelter elsewhere. 🌬️
