While many hit the stores for Black Friday, we decided to take the alternative and #OptOutside! The Opt Outside movement was started by REI to encourage people to forego the crazy after Thanksgiving sales and enjoy the outdoors. That's something we can definitely get down with!
Our #OptOutside destination was the Gathering Pond near the Milford Fish Hatchery. This spot is a year round stopping point for migratory birds because of the abundance of food and in the Winter it is extremely popular with the ever growing Bald Eagle population. We came expecting to see a few eagles and hike off some of the turkey day pounds. What we got was a family adventure to be thankful for!
