Every day, more than 115 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids. The Midwest region alone saw opioid overdoses increase 70 percent from 2016 to 2017. Yet even as the nation struggles to support those who are addicted or misusing opioids, treatment alone is not enough. The only way to stay ahead of this growing trend of opioid misuse is through prevention.

Join us as EDC researchers and practitioners share their expertise about the crucial role that prevention plays in curtailing the opioid crisis.

For decades, EDC has been a leader in the field of substance misuse prevention through projects such as the Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT), the Massachusetts Technical Assistance Partnership for Prevention (MassTAPP), and the recently launched Prevention Solutions@EDC, which offers opioid and substance misuse support for states, communities, and tribes.
