In 2008, an anonymous user on 4Chan was obsessed with the lion face emoticon. So they made a plan to draw the emote on every single dollar bill they came across, and wondered how long it would take for another anon to see it.
Quickly, the thread blew up, and others began posting their own images of lionfaces on dollar bills.
This would begin a massive movement called Operation Lioncash, all in an attempt to turn every single paper currency around the globe into Lioncash.
The campaign got so big that it reached everywhere from the United States to New Zealand to Uruguay to China to Australia to literally every country you can think of.
