This awesome song is a cover of Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" as done in the style of Breaking Benjamin. The cover artist is Ten Second Songs. You can find a link to the song here:

Goal #1 for the New Year: Go fly on the first day of the year. Mission accomplished. I didn't actually intend to make a flight edit. This was a practice session. I was working on inverted floating over trees, yaw spins and whatever the hell that backwards roll yaw thingy is that I like so much.

But as I started flying I decided that I would make a flight edit and that I would leave in as many warts as I could in order to give a "real" account of what this session was like. It was gnarly, lots of scraggle, impacts with the ground, failed tricks, tricks that just went wonky and, of course, my very first ESC fire.

Chad Nowak and I had a great conversation about how social media warps not only the consumers but also the creators. From the consumer's perspective all they typically see is the finished product, the perfection that often times seems completely unattainable. It can lead to things like demotivation, feelings of inadequacy and even depression. What the consumer doesn't know is that there may have been hours, weeks or months of work to get to that one tiny point of "perfection".

From the creator's perspective with each new "perfect" creation the pressure starts to build. You feel an overwhelming need to top the last bit of "perfection" that you have wrought with your blood, sweat and tears. As you seek out more and more "perfection" the joy of what you're doing quickly erodes. Suddenly, you're caught in the machine and it is grinding your bones to dust.

Today wasn't about perfection. It was about joy and honing in on the things that are starting to define how I want to fly. I love creating flight edits, but honestly they're not for you, they're for me. They are an account of where I've come from and a hint at where I might be going.

Perfection is an impossible goal. It will destroy you, both by looking at it and seeking it. But qualities like beauty, inspiration and growth can be observed with joy.

Don't look for the perfection, you'll never find it. Look for the joy.
