Meta’s v81 update is finally out of PTC and rolling out to all Quest users, bringing improvements and stability updates across the board. At the same time, controversy is growing as Meta confirms that AI-generated data will now be used for targeted advertising. In the Horizon Store, Meta has started delisting Gorilla Tag clones to clean up its app lineup and improve overall quality control.
Meanwhile, Valve’s long-awaited next-generation VR headset—possibly the Index 2—has reportedly entered mass production, suggesting a launch may be closer than expected. On the AR side, Apple has introduced a new Dual Knit Band for the Vision Pro, and Samsung’s Google-powered smart glasses are rumored to be arriving next year, adding even more competition to the rapidly growing AR market.
