In this annual lecture on George Eastman’s life one hundred years ago, Legacy Collection Archivist Jesse Peers will explore what George Eastman and Eastman Kodak Company were up to in 1921 through a slideshow of related objects and historic documents. Topics include a long-running lawsuit between the US government and Kodak, the company’s founding of Eastman Savings & Loan and introduction of the Kodak Picture Spots campaign, as well as Eastman’s involvement in Rochester’s government, economy, healthcare, and arts and culture.
This virtual program coincides with the exhibition One Hundred Years Ago: George Eastman in 1921, on view in the Sitting Room through the end of the year.
