(Sans toit ni loi, Agnes Varda, France 1985, 105 min.)

A young woman is found dead, frozen in a field. What follows is an account of how she got there, "doing the road," wandering and depending on the kindness of strangers, told through the experiences of those she interacted with. Varda's sympathetic telling of this story is recommended by Kelli Hix (Selznick 2002), Audiovisual Archivist for the Audiovisual Heritage Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She sits down with Jared to talk about her work, Varda's style and whether she would pick up a vagabond on the road.
