‘Cowboy Jack Lawrence taught Joey how to team rope and they spent lots of time together riding horses through the years. His wife Sandy was one of Joey’s best friends. Sandy wrote this song about her struggle with losing Joey to cancer and how deeply Joey’s faith in God through it all personally impacted her. After I recorded it for my ‘Gentle Man’ album in 2021, I knew Jack was who needed to play the main character in the music video. Filmed partly in Jack and Sandy’s horse barn and pasture, and partly in the cemetery behind our farmhouse, the song and mini-movie remind us that some questions are hard to answer, but in-the-end there’s nothing more powerful than a life and faith well-lived’. - rory
