Tours and activities play a powerful, and often underestimated, role in shaping how travellers move, behave and engage once they arrive at a destination. This panel explores how operators can actively influence visitor behaviour in ways that benefit local communities, protect places and improve the overall travel experience.
Moderated by Dan Christian of Travel Trends Podcast, speakers from HX Expeditions, WeRaod and Visit Copenhagen will discuss how thoughtful tour design, local partnerships and clear traveller guidance can encourage responsible behaviour on the ground, from dispersal and seasonality to spending patterns and respect for place. The panel will also discuss the role of non-air transportation, examining how walking, cycling, rail, ferries and other local mobility options can significantly reduce environmental impact while making destinations easier to navigate and operate within.

Only a tiny fraction of travelers are willing to let AI book autonomously. Why? Because today’s systems optimize transactions, not relationships. They know preferences, but not people. They recommend highlights, but miss meaning. As AI assistants in hospitality and travel race toward mainstream adoption, this session asks a more uncomfortable question: what is fundamentally missing in the algorithm? The answer lies beyond data and automation — in context, community, cultural intelligence, and human judgment. This session explores why current AI travel tools remain fragmented, siloed, and culturally shallow — and what it takes to evolve them into trusted companions rather than smart booking engines.
