A less than one minute look at Village punishment for minor crimes in the 16th & 17th Century in Somerset ! I look at the Village Stocks in Faulkland Somerset that are in place on the Village green flanked by two ancient monoliths . I am always amazed that a punishment for minor crimes in these times is now used for fun at Village fetes ?
