Tim Eriksen sings a Christmas carol with bajo sexto (twelve string acoustic bass used in cojunto etc.) The words are by Samson Occom, the Native American Presbyterian preacher from Connecticut who was responsible for much of the early fundraising for Dartmouth College ca. 1760. See the liner notes to my CD "Every Sound Below" for more details.

O Sight of Anguish view it near
what weeping innocence is here
a manger for his bed.
The brutes yield refuge to his woe-
Man, the worst brute, no pity shows
nor gives him friendly aid.....

Say radiant seraphs throned in light
Did love e'er tower so high a flight
Or glory sink so low
This wonder angels scare declare
Angels the rapture cannot bear
Or equal praise bestow

Redemption tis a boundless theme
Thou boundless mind our hearts inflame
With ardour from above
Words are but faint let joys epress
Vain is mere joy let actions bless
This prodigy of love
