In Episode 2 of the series, we’re just north of Detroit in Eastpointe, Michigan, at Big Ken’s Bar-B-Q taking on their Supersized Full Menu BBQ Challenge!
Big Ken's Bar-B-Q is a locally owned BBQ restaurant that’s been serving the Metro Detroit area since 2019. Known for what they call their original Detroit-style BBQ, they focus on bold, sauce-forward flavors with meats smoked low and slow over real wood. Their menu is loaded with BBQ favorites including ribs, rib tips, chicken, wings, pulled pork, burgers, and plenty of classic sides. They’re also known for their signature BBQ sauce, Mexican street corn, and homemade lemonade. If you’re a fan of good BBQ and find yourself around the Detroit area, Big Ken’s is definitely worth checking out!
The Supersized Full Menu Challenge basically includes everything that’s currently on the menu. This time around, the challenge features a half rack of BBQ ribs, a half chicken, 6 full-size chicken wings, BBQ rib tips, a burger, a pulled pork sandwich, pulled pork nachos, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, an order of fries, 2 ears of corn on the cob, cornbread, cheesecake, and last but not least, their homemade lemonade. If you can finish everything within the very short 30-minute time limit, you’ll get the $100 meal free, a T-shirt, $100 cash, and a photo on their Wall of Fame!
Just a quick note: the challenge can vary in size and what’s included. It seems like almost everyone who has attempted it has received a slightly different lineup of food, so it really depends on what’s currently on the menu and what they’re serving at the time.
