Sheathing a wood framed structure should be fun. My kids got a kick out of nailing the panels on. I'm using OSB, which stands for Oriented Strand Board, in 7/16" thickness. The panels are spanning 2x8 framing members spaced 16 inches on center. The footprint is 12 feet by 16 feet, which is just under 200 square feet. The dimensions are nice because they are keeping to a 4 foot grid. Since the sheathing panels are 4x8, this means there is almost no waste material.

This off grid cabin will be insulated, heated, cooled, for a comfortable indoor environment year-round. It will be powered with it's own solar system with panels and battery.
