Sorry, no fun for you, I figured out all my questions. AdaptOr with the O is generally seen as a British spelling. Me being in the US, generally it should be written as AdaptEr with an E. ALT GR, also called Alt Graph, is generally used to access regional-specific characters on the keyboard, such as the euro symbol key I note, and accented letters would be another possibility.
I wish the keyboard had a light for the key lock...
