You can get the Odd Key from outside of the blue house.
1. Navigate to the corner where I do.
2. Spin, hold right, and hammer to face away from the house.
3. Spin, hold left, and hammer.
This works because when you spin and hammer, the game only checks if there's a wall in the direction you're facing when you start the spin. This means if you change direction mid spin by holding a direction, you can get your hammer to fully extend through the wall. You can also see the reverse happening when you do the first spin away from the wall and the hammer acts like it's hitting a wall even though it's not.
This is a trick that's very well known, but I don't think it's been properly documented until now.
