Words and music by Glen Clark
From my second album, Hiding In The Spotlight (2019)
Song fully recorded, mixed and mastered in Garageband.
Lyrically, the song is about being in love. When your lover is always on your mind and you wish you could be with them all the time.
Musically, I based the song around the morse code for the number 2 (dot dot dash dash dash).
Seeing as this was for my second album, I wanted to do something relevant to the number two.
You can hear the morse code '2' repeated throughout the verses.
This one also has a wee bit of ear candy sprinkled throughout along with some reversed sound effects.
The song drops out just after the instrumental and the morse code you can hear in the background spells out 'I Love You'.
Programmed drums (Darcy) on the Retro Rock kit with the Sunset kit snare drum. I had to separate the snare to a separate audio track so I could apply a snare sound with a bit more crack.
Vocals and (4) backing vocals are all me with a sprinkling of tape delay added here and there.
3 acoustic guitar tracks (Carlos acoustic), 3 electric guitar tracks (Fender Telecaster) and my bass guitar track. I also used my ebow in the verses to add a drone underneath. Lead guitar tracks are doubled to add thickness - one guitar uses Stadium Spread amp setting and the other Classic Drive amp setting.
Some synth pads round out the sound along with a string ensemble.
The morse code and synth pads were played via Logic Remote on my iPad Pro using a variety of synth sounds.
Effects wise, all the EQs, compressions, delays etc are the stock ones in GB. The only external plugin I used was the Kazrog True Iron plugin (transformer emulator) which I applied to every track to add a little something.
All up I used 34 tracks so there's a lot going on.
I also had a lot of fun singing the very last note of the song LOL
