ANAESTHETIC RUNNING THROUGH MY VEINS

From my 2017 album, Nowhere To Hide.
Written after I had an operation to remove my appendix. I experienced some incredibly vivid dreams/nightmares with the medication I was on. I woke one night at about 1am following a particularly harrowing dream about my daughter and wrote these lyrics in about half an hour.
My daughter (who was 3 at the time) provided some sound effect vocals on the song.
I consider this one of my first in a 'new' batch of songs. I had already recorded about half a dozen songs for my first album, most of which had been written well over 20 years ago. This was one of the first songs I had written specifically with an album in mind.
For want of something to simple to sketch, the video is me playing around with drawing over a close up of my eye.
