As I said before, if the previous video did well, then I'd make an update on the TAS.
The video performed decently well, so I held my end of the promise. Here's another TAS, and it's improved by quite a bit.
Improvements:
Time saved: 1.14 seconds (1140 milliseconds).
~300ms saved from reducing wait time from each transition screen.
~200ms saved from spamming after Day 1 stream (spamming is faster than waiting).
~70ms saved from spamming after Day 2 transition.
~400ms saved from spamming after going out (faster than waiting)
~100ms saved from spamming at the end (and also spamming on the OK button at the very end).
Rest of the time saved is just minimal improvements
T.A.S. (Tool Assisted Speedrun/Superplay) is the act of using tools to modify a game and/or create a set of inputs that can repeat the same outcome over and over again.
These tools are often used as a means of creating a theoretically perfect speedrun of a game, or used for simply making fun videos for people to watch (such as SM64 TAS Freeruns).
This run also abuses the use of segments.
I've recorded this run ~50 times, and constantly got different results ranging from 22.05 to 22.87. I spliced all of the runs that were under 22.2, and took the best segments from each run (only 4 were actually usable lol).
All together, the best I could possibly get was 22 seconds flat, and I'm not really disappointed.

TAS route, tools, and VFX patch are all made by Frostworth!
Frostworth is an incredible modder for Needy Streamer Overload, and has made lots of fun mods, such as a randomizer, adding Solitaire to NSO (with custom sprites), and even a custom stream maker that outperforms the official in-game stream maker by a long shot!
Frostworths github: https://github.com/amazeedaizee
Frostworths YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@chippydippy1350
They also made a mod for Typing of The Net: Endless Nightmare: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q5-NFqYNYqGPG1ayd6gkOf9nR2ORfv1i/view
For those who dont know, ever since version 1.2.1, most vfx/shaders stopped working properly. This is mainly to do with Unity itself, but its still fixable in the game, if it werent for the devs sucking at their job.
This video uses a patch that fixes those VFX/shaders, so it shows how the game should truly be played!
For those who may not know what TAS is: T.A.S. stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun/Superplay.
This is the process of using special tools to do complete a task in a videogame in a more optimal way compared to an average human playing the game normally. Although the process is slightly different, depending on the game and tools, this TAS specifically uses an autoplayer that is capable of being fed actions, and executing them in the order they were given. This TAS also uses the help of a mod that limits RNG to become 100% consistent.
For those wondering, the VFX actually make the game run SLOWER!
Here is a game that doesnt use VFX, and its multiple minutes faster than this video: https://youtu.be/TSEOZOZ9i2k?si=Bi-QoVl3H5oZxeFZ
This could be due to a number of issues, but it mainly seems to be something involving the VFX.

The mod also requires Bepinex
Link to Bepinex pre-config (+ manual instructions, if youd like to do it yourself): https://gist.github.com/amazeedaizee/ae0dd70cc0d842d6a83cd80451e3752e
Simply unzip the bepinex files into the root of NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE files. Then place the VFX mod into the plugins folder inside of bepinex.
Also would like to give a shoutout to Mints, AS THEY WERE THE FIRST TO MAKE A VFX FIX MOD!
https://github.com/Indeterminance
They also have an NSO project of their own, called Alternative Ascension: https://github.com/Indeterminance/AlternativeAscension
Mints discussed their VFX patch, and it inspired Frostworth to attempt to make their own fix.
I want to make it clear that Mints is technically the first to officially create the mod.
But I am deciding to upload Frostworths mod on my own, without their input.

I figured out how to use the skip that was used in Catastrophe.
With this skip, I was able to get passed the first Darkness stream, and count my first as being my 2nd Darkness stream.
Originally, you would reach 80 stress (or whatever you have on day 7), and then lose 20 stress after Darkness 1. And then you would go from 60 stress to 100 stress. Then after Darkness 2 (and losing 20 stress), you would go from 80 stress to 120 stress, to then end the game.
With this strat, we can basically just cut off the Darkness 1 stream. We go from 100 to 80, and then 80 to 120. Making this run over a whole minute faster than the previous WR.

Theres been some new discoveries found recently!
I recently found that you can run off to the right, and stand on top of a wall while Out of Bounds, and even noticed that you can kill the skeleton from above. And then beponeko found that you can actually hit the 3rd checkpoint from underneath the rotation puzzle, so we can skip that part altogether!
Next, I found that you were technically capable of walking on the walls while OoB to then go to the key room early, and basically lets you skip walking in a massive circle.
I was then capable of finding a setup to do the walk fairly consistent, and as of right now, I can get it 1/5 of the time. Though, I admittedly did the trick slightly wrong, because I was meant to land in the room with the key, and not behind the skeleton, but thats fine.
Along with an easier button pattern found by liangjiale123, the first segment of the game can be done in under 4 minutes (if played a little bit more optimally)!
Other than the first segment going through changes (and likely more, soon), the 2nd and 3rd area are fairly the same, with the only significant change being that you want to walk AWAY from the ending area after killing the Genderuwo. Im not sure why, but its somehow just faster to do it this way. Though, I did once have a run where I instantly teleported after killing the Genderuwo, so things will definitely change when that becomes understood.
So now the question is: Will this stuff be used in full game runs?
The first OoB that allows us to skip the rotation puzzle: YES! Its extremely easy to pull off, and saves ~20+ seconds or so.
Worst case scenario, Ive accidentally fell back in-bounds, and was able to complete the rotation puzzle, and move on
This outcome is a little bit slower than the OG OoB, but its still not a huge run killer.
The seconds OoB to get to the key room early: Likely, no? Its very hard to just straight up navigate blindly in the dark, while having very few to no legitimate visual ques.
The visual que setup at the start is a problem on its own, since the safe setup is fairly slow, and makes the time save quite small. And the fast setup is somewhat difficult to properly align.
Even after the first setup, we have to navigate on the walls, with the only way of knowing if we are close to falling off the wall is if Lindas height changes (which is still hard to really be sure of, since everything is invisible).
Though, it is still technically possible to fall back in-bounds, itd still be somewhat unoptimal.
And if you do end up falling into the void, youd have to do a reset and go all the way back to Siskas house. This will end up costing you ~30 seconds to get back OoB, kill the skeleton, and get back in-bounds inside the room with the stand for the stones (+ the time loss for however long it took you until you fell into the void). Altogether, it has too many chances to lose more time than what you are able to gain.
The second OoB also probably only saves around 5-10 seconds, depending on how quick you can do it.
Considering the WR takes around 1 hour and 1 minute to get to Act 6, Id argue that its not worth killing your run when youre both, very far into the run, and near the end of the run.

For those who may not know what a TAS is, T.A.S. (Tool Assisted Speedrun/Superplay) is the process of doing a speedrun, while using tools to manipulate many factors of a game, in order to create a theoretical perfect speedrun.
The term tools can often refer to many aspects, such as using mods that manipulate luck factors, speed, savestates, or fully custom tools that give you internal information.
More specifically to this video, this run uses an auto player mod made by the NSO modder, Frostworth.
This auto player basically runs off of code that attempts to do every action as soon as it is capable of doing so, making for the most optimal time for everything.
For more information on TASes, most people like to refer to Bismuths video on explaining TASes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ietk1-Wb7oY
All tools used were made by Frostworth. Please check out all of their awesome NSO mods!

I had to turn my WiFi off for 15 minutes :(
Btw, sorry for the timer not being used. Normally, we use an auto splitter that can start and stop the timer automatically. Unfortunately, it connects to Bepinex, which does a weird thing with connecting to the internet. I only noticed about 4-5 minutes in, and I just dealt with it, just in case I had a good run.
I also did this run with the EffectFix mod, made by Frostworth (who also made the auto splitter, previously mentioned). Newer updates break the effects in this game, so I used this mod to make the ending look nicer. It does make the game a little bit slower, but I thought it was worth it, for the sake of entertainment.
You can download the EffectFix here, along with some other fixes: https://github.com/amazeedaizee/NeedyGirlPatches
