Track List:
0:00 "Alpha Squadron"
0:49 "Winter Queen"
1:55 "The Summoning"
3:17 "Limitless Wonder"
4:24 Menace in Venice
5:37 "Medieval Dance Party"
6:45 "Storm Surge"

The first track is called "Alpha Squadron." This one started out as a Sci-Fi, space troopers kind of thing, and this time it stayed that way instead of turning Spanish! The synth bass gets us into the middle of things right at the beginning and lets us know this track means business. Once the drums and lead synth kicks in, we're full throttle gangsta in the streets and nothing can stop us.

Secondly, we have "Winter Queen," which starts with a piano that feels like it would be right at home in the middle of a snowy forest. After our intro bars, we're accompanied by some short crescendos on the strings as the piano plays its lead melody, which becomes the counter melody to our actual lead, carried by a classical sounding violin. It's all very airy, light and fantastical.

The third track is called "The Summoning" and it's full of downright nasty evil. It starts with brooding strings and haunting, ghostly whispers. About 27 seconds in, the piano slams in with some bending strings that really carry a lot of weight and make this track feel so impactful. After their first play through, they come back a second time and hit full force with the piano's bass notes really slamming hard.

Next up is "Limitless Wonder." It starts with a childlike melody on a music box until the harp glides upward and brings us into our full orchestral wonder. The strings flow smoothly, the glockenspiel gives us some magical, supporting chords and we're whisked away light as a feather by the silky flutes and clarinets.

The fifth is named "Menace in Venice." I'm sure you'll all enjoy that rhyme! This is a cool little mix of Italian/gypsy style instruments and synthy bass and a beefy, hip-hop style drum kit with some distortion. I started writing this seedy, gypsy track for a murder mystery type scenario, then, while still keeping that feeling intact, decided to go a bit nuts and throw the bass and drums in there while the violin rocked the lead. The result ended up being a kind of gypsy noir, I think. That might have to become a genre all on its own!

I'm not quite sure what to think of this next one. I started doing this upbeat medieval, tavern thing for an entertaining troupe. Then I wondered what would happen if one of the old time bard's or troubadours whipped out a drum kit from the 80's and started ripping on it. I figured the musicians on the bass citole, lute and harp would start jamming out and once everyone rushed onto the floor to dance in front of the roaring fire, the flute players wouldn't be able to stop playing a super upbeat, fast-paced melody! Hence, "Medieval Dance Party" was born!

And lastly, we have pure adrenaline percussion and strings in the trailer track, "Storm Surge." I used a different percussion patch than I normally do. These strikes have a bit of higher end distortion on them for a bit of a different sound than some of the beefy taikos and timpani I typically write with.

I'll start a private poll for the second tier and higher to cast your vote for the piece you want finished. Voting will end November 27th, so there's plenty of time to decide!

Thanks so much for your continued support! I hope you've all been well and I hope you enjoy the music!
