Despite being orphaned at a young age, Nova has done very well. Ginny has been the best foster mom. Nova is around a day older than her half-siblings so is a little more independent and advanced in her development. She is the first to venture out of the next box and explore the larger world. She follows Ginny around, paying close attention to everything Ginny does and mimicking her. It is neat watching how baby mice learn from their elders at this age :) Nova is still nursing but weaning will happen soon. One day Ginny will just no longer want to feed them, she will avoid her babies until they understand that nursing is no longer an option and they have to make the switch to adult food. Most baby mice are fully weaned by the time they are four weeks old.
