Good news for the second largest gathering of seabirds in England. Northumberland Marine Special Protection Area (SPA) was designated in September 2017. It protects an area of about 884 km2, which supports the essential feeding, roosting and loafing activities of the seabirds nesting in the 4 existing SPAs along this coastline.
